Information on Commissions of People

My paintings of people are figurative paintings meant to capture an emotion or a special memory, rather than a portrait. I frequently have requests to paint someone's child(ren) and I am always happy to do so! Since I am not doing portraits, the kids really need to be "moving" or in some sort of interesting pose to make the painting interesting. I paint from photos and the photo should be from the back or just some of the profile of their face.

If you don't live too far from Alpharetta, then I can take the photo for you, or you can send me a photo you have that you like. You don't need a "perfect" photo, since the beauty of painting is that I can change most things that might be "wrong" with the photo, but not all. For example, I couldn't change how a person's body is positioned or an expression on their face, but I could leave off a stray hair or leave off anything out of the background and I will crop/zoom in on what I want to paint. Sometimes I can even add things to the paintings to add extra meaning.
